Visa For Foreigners Whose Husbands or Wives are Vietnamese

According to regulations on entry and exit management, foreigners whose husbands or wives are Vietnamese are applied visa as below:

1.      Visa exemption: free visa is applied for foreigners whose husbands or wives are Vietnamese have validity of 5 years, however, every time of entering Vietnam, visa exemption will be applied in 90 days. After 90 days, if foreigners do not want to exit Vietnam, they need to do procedures to extend temporary residence at Department of immigration.

Agencies issue visa exemption for foreigners whose husbands or wives are Vietnamese include: representative diplomatic agencies of Vietnam in abroad (Embassy/ consulate) and Department of immigration- Domestic ministry of public security.

2.      Permanent residence card: is a kind of long-term visa issued to foreign citizens whose husbands or wives are Vietnamese. The permanent residence card is issued to foreigners under a condition: they temporarily reside in Vietnam at least one year.

Authorized agencies issue permanent card for foreigners including Division of Immigration under Provincial Police where foreigners whose husbands or wives are Vietnamese have permanent or temporary address.

3.      In addition, foreign citizens whose husbands or wives are Vietnamese are able to apply visa, visa extension as normal procedures for foreigners.
