Regulations on Health Declaration at Vietnamese Border
According to regulations, individuals entering, exiting, or transiting through Vietnamese border gates must complete a health declaration as instructed by the Ministry of Health. The declaration can be made electronically or on paper, depending on the requirements for each type of infectious disease and the epidemic situation at any given time.

Individuals undergoing border crossing procedures are also responsible for providing proof of vaccinations or other preventive measures taken when requested by health authorities.
➔ Timeframe: Notably, the health declaration must be completed within 7 days prior to entering, exiting, or transiting through a Vietnamese border gate.
Health Monitoring & Quarantine Inspection
In addition, health quarantine personnel will observe and monitor the health status and body temperature of passengers to detect suspected cases of infectious diseases early. When necessary, quarantine officers may conduct document checks, interviews, gather epidemiological information, and perform on-site inspections to assess the risk of infection.

In cases where a person is found to be subject to physical inspection as stipulated in point d, clause 2, Article 20 of the Law on Disease Prevention, the health quarantine officer shall conduct the physical inspection.
Cases stipulated in point d, clause 2, Article 20 of the Law on Disease Prevention, which are determined through information gathering, medical observation, and document verification, must be subject to on-site verification.
The Law on Disease Prevention (Effective from July 1, 2026)
Article 20 stipulates regulations on medical quarantine. Medical quarantine is conducted at border crossings. Those subject to medical quarantine include:
➔ In the event of detecting suspected signs of infectious disease, the quarantine agency will apply medical treatment measures as prescribed.
➔ Processing time: The time to complete the physical examination for an individual shall not exceed 2 hours.
